Our Team

Here’s a snapshot of some of the leaders involved at Crossroads.

AJ Vanderhorst is the founding pastor of Crossroads Church, married to Lindsay, and daddy to Aidan, Asher and Ezra. He loves writing and photography, digs indie music, and is constantly trying to rehab his hoops game.

Lindsay Vanderhorst is an actress, singer, and mom who loves Broadway scores and can be found yelling at the TV when her Jayhawks are playing. LuLu’s is her favorite downtown restaurant, hands-down.

Scott Ramon is a software engineer, jazz fan, and lover of the outdoors, married to Lindsay. If he could, he would spend his free time hiking the Appalachian Trail wearing a Linux T-shirt.

Lindsay Ramon is an artist and teacher, married to Scott. She’s a student of classic art deco who will likely design your new favorite accessory when she opens a studio in the next couple years.

Lynne Francis is married to David and has lived in the KC, MO area for decades. She loves Jesus, hospitality, and working the angles to find the best automotive, retail and real estate deals on the planet.

Ruth Schmidt is a techno-loving, manual-transmission-driving, shark-fearing, Midwestern child of the ’80s who will one day publish a book. She’s overwhelmingly outgoing; friends beg her not to strike up conversation with strangers.

Abbey Dragan loves Jesus, her husband Steven, and long dinners with family and friends. In her car are Van Morrison tracks, coffee in a to-go cup, and books she’s in the middle of finishing.  She is a teacher and loves downtown Kansas City.

Steven Dragan loves Jesus, his wife Abbey, people, culture, chaos (maybe), and places rich with character. He likes bookshelves, inventing games, happy hour, and design.  A graduate from KU’s architecture program, he is excited to be living in the Crossroads district.

Erin Martinez is wife to Jose and Mommy to 3-year-old Max. She is a cello-playing, food-loving, yoga-practicing (to make up for the food-loving), photographer and stylist. She is excited about finding creative ways to serve and enrich the downtown community.

Jose Martinez is married to Erin, loves adversity and diversity, and would someday like to incorporate the violence and grace of Bruce Lee into a theological framework. Yeah, he’s eying doctorate work.

Jon Dangers is completing his medical internship at St Luke’s after med school in the Carribbean. In the rare moments he’s not on call, he likes to hit downtown, paint, dance, and watch UFC fights.

Bethany Brown is a gregarious human icebreaker and nursing student at KU Med. She is a K-State grad and loyal fan, even though joining the Jayhawk nation could have a lot of political advantages.
